#EM CLIENT SUPPORT EXCHANGE UPGRADE#
Real solution: Upgrade those systems to Windows 10 with Outlook 2016 or higher.

I see it as either find a budget and move to a compatible setup that has security and updates, or stay with a outdated insecure discontinued system and implement bandaids. I think you might be fighting an uphill battle and tell me if I'm wrong, but I think you might need to find a way to educate the decision makers to make a real decision on IT investment here. The next best solution is to find a email client which works with 365 and can run on XP, users keep their old clients to access their archive.Īnd of cause all the users want their computers to be changed to the latest model with win 10 and office 2019. This I am still waiting for MS to reply if they can do it. The best solution for me is to have all users setup with their existing client (Standard imap), that way they can access their email and local archive.

Most of them have local archives done over the years and quite a few users will over run 50GB in 2 years easily (mostly attachments). So now I have users not migrated using outlook express/2007-2013, foxmail, etc running on system as old as XP. Problems started when I am setting up for users not using outlook 2016 and above, (I think) due to 365 havingĪuthentication enabled, basic authentication disabled and MAPI over http enabled. I thought that's no problem right, all users are already using imap/pop for existing email access. Maybe I should provide more info on why I am searching for an email client.īefore I started the move to 365, I was told imap/pop is available,īut only outlook (they did not say which version) will provide full features of 365.
